Overview Of 5 Day Fes to Marrakech via Chefchaouen and Sahara

The journey start in Fes and head to the beautiful Blue City of Chefchaouen, where you can wander through peaceful blue-painted streets. Continue south through the mountains, stopping in Meknes and Cedar Forest, before spending the night in the quiet town of Midelt.

Travel to Merzouga and ride camels into the stunning Erg Chebbi dunes to watch the sunset. Spend a magical night in a comfortable desert camp, enjoying traditional music under a sky full of stars.

The next day, visit the impressive Todra Gorges and continue to the scenic Dades Valley for an overnight stay. On your final day, explore the famous Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, then cross the spectacular High Atlas Mountains to reach Marrakech, where your tour ends.

Itinerary: 5 Day Fes to Marrakech via Chefchaouen and Sahara

Day 1: Fes – Chefchaouen

Your journey begins in Fes, where you’ll be picked up and driven north through the scenic Rif Mountains. Arrive in Chefchaouen, Morocco’s iconic “Blue City,” known for its peaceful atmosphere and blue-washed medina. Spend the afternoon strolling through charming alleyways, colorful artisan shops, and lively cafés. Visit Outa el Hammam Square and the Kasbah, or hike to the Spanish Mosque for a stunning panoramic view at sunset.
Overnight in a cozy riad overlooking the blue streets of the medina.

Day 2: Chefchaouen – Meknes – Azrou – Midelt

After breakfast, depart Chefchaouen and head south along the foothills, passing through green valleys and small rural towns. Stop in Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities, where you can enjoy lunch and explore its historic medina walls and monumental gates.
Continue towards Azrou, known for its cedar forests and the Barbary macaque monkeys that live there. Then travel through the Middle Atlas Mountains to reach Midelt, a quiet town surrounded by mountains and apple orchards.

Day 3: Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga (Camel Ride & Desert Camp)

Today, your adventure takes you deeper into the desert regions. Drive through the Ziz Valley, known for its sweeping oases and ancient kasbahs. Pass through the town of Erfoud, famous for its fossil workshops, before reaching Merzouga, at the edge of the magnificent Erg Chebbi dunes.
Here, your camel caravan will be waiting. Ride into the glowing orange dunes just before sunset, enjoying the serene desert silence. Arrive at your desert camp, where you’ll savor a traditional dinner and listen to Berber music under a sky filled with stars.

Day 4: Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

Wake up early to witness a breathtaking sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, return by camel or 4×4 to the village and begin your drive toward the Todra Gorges, with towering rock walls reaching up to 300 meters. Take time to walk and admire the gorge and the flowing river.
Continue along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs and through the Valley of Roses before arriving in the Dades Valley, known for its rugged natural beauty and striking red rock formations.
Overnight in a charming guesthouse or riad overlooking the valley.

Day 5: Dades Valley – Ait Benhaddou – Marrakech

After breakfast, travel through Ouarzazate, famous for its film studios and desert landscapes.
Continue to the iconic Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage ksar that has appeared in many famous films and series. Explore its ancient passageways and mud-brick fortress village.
After lunch, drive through the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass, with stops to admire the breathtaking views of Berber villages and rugged peaks.
By late afternoon or evening, arrive in Marrakech, where your tour concludes with drop-off at your accommodation.
