Itinerary: 3 Day Desert Tour Fes To Marrakech

Day 1: Fes to Merzouga via Ifrane Midelt and Atlas mountains.

Start your 3 Day desert tour Fes to Marrakech with a drive to Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco,” before continuing to Midelt. Along the way, enjoy views of the Middle and High Atlas Mountains and stop at Morocco’s largest cedar forest, home to Barbary apes. After lunch in Midelt, travel through the Tizi Ntalghamt Pass and Ziz Gorge, admiring the changing scenery as the High Atlas gives way to desert landscapes near Errachidia. Continue along the lush Ziz Valley with stops for panoramic views before reaching Erfoud and, by afternoon, Merzouga. Here, an experienced camel guide will lead you across the sand dunes to your desert camp. Overnight stay with dinner and breakfast.

Day 2: Merzouga to Dades via Todra gorges and Tinghir.

You will wack up to take the sunrise picture and breakfast then you’ll peacefully camel-trek or a jeep back to the village of Merzouga. Enroute you couldn’t fail to appreciate the unique beauty of the spectacular Erg Chebbi sand dunes – changing with the light as the day progresses. Meeting your driver then you’ll leave for Rissani (Market days in Rissani are: Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday), Tinghir, and Todra gorges – the highest, narrowest gorges in Morocco. After a short hike in the gorge, we’ll drive through the Dades Valley, where you’ll see the majestic sand castles and the amazing rock formations known as “monkey toes”. Overnight accommodation will be in a Hotel. (BDB)
