After breakfast at the hotel and after exploring the city of Chefchaouen, we will travel south through Ouazzan towards Volubilis, the well-preserved Roman empire dating back to 225 BC. C., where some mosaics are still in very good condition, then to Meknes, the Ismaili capital of Morocco. . In Meknes we will see the fascinating Bab Mansour gate built by Sultan My Ismail, the granary and the Sahrij Souani used for irrigation and planting. We then continue towards Fez. After breakfast at your riad, you will leave Fez towards Merzouga via Midelt and the Ziz Valley. Today you will travel through the city of Ifran, a beautiful mountainous city, known as “the Switzerland of Morocco”. You will also make a stop at the famous cedar forest, the largest in Morocco, where you can see the Barbary apes. After some time in the forest, your journey continues towards Midelt along the magnificent Atlas Hills and Mountains.

  Lunch may be there and you will travel through the fascinating Tiz Ntalghamt Pass and Ziz Gorge, taking in views of the High Atlas Plateau. You will notice how the landscape changes as you approach the town of Errachidia. You will then travel along the lush Ziz Valley, stopping for panoramic views on the way to Erfoud. Arrival in Merzouga in the late afternoon. You will be greeted with a glass of mint tea before checking into your riad. Dinner, accommodation and breakfast.

After breakfast at your riad. You will begin an exploration trip of the area before taking a camel ride and spending the night in the desert camp. Today you will visit the Gnawa people, originally slaves brought from Sudan and other sub-Saharan countries, to experience their music and lifestyle. Not far away is Lake Merzouga, with its bird populations (sometimes it dries up). You can also visit the nomadic families that live among the sand dunes, the border with Algeria, the abandoned mines… In the afternoon, you will ride a camel, guided by an experienced camel driver, to explore the golden sand sea of Merzouga.
