Itinerary: 10 Days Tour From Casablanca

Day 1: Arrival to Casablanca

Our driver will wait for you at the airport. To start your north and south Morocco tour with a pick-up and drive to Casablanca to visit its highlight. The Hassan II Mosque and walk along the coast, with a visit to the Morocco Mall if time permits and settling into your first night at the hotel. Bed and breakfast.
 

Day 2: Casablanca and road to Chefchaouen

Breakfast at the hotel and drive to Chefchaouen. It is a popular tourist attraction in Morocco and a welcoming town nestled in the Rif Mountains, just south of the Mediterranean coast in northwest Morocco. Chefchaouen is known as the “blue city” for its traditional buildings. Enjoy a stroll to explore the white and blue walls of the medina and the markets offering unique indigenous crafts. Chefchaouen is a fantastic destination for photography with its magnificent views of the Rif Mountain. Night in a riad with B&B.
 

Day 3: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fez

After breakfast at the hotel, you will leave the town of Chefchaouen and head south via Ouazzan towards Volubilis. The well-preserved Roman ruins dating back to 225 BC, where some mosaics are still in very good condition. After that, you travel to Meknes, the Ismaili capital of Morocco. In Meknes we see the fascinating Bab Mansour gate built by Sultan My Ismail, the granary and the Sahrij Souani used for irrigation and plantations. Then you continue towards Fez. Night in a Riad. Bed and breakfast.
 

Day 4: Explore Fez

After breakfast in your riad, you will start exploring the oldest city in Morocco. Stroll through its alleys and small streets. Our visit begins with the gate of the Royal Palace, Jewish seat, the first Mellah ever built in Morocco, built in the 16th century. We will ensure that you visit all the sites of cultural and historical interest including the famous Al Qaraouine University, the oldest in the region, the Tanneries, the Attarine Museum and the Moulay Idriss Mausoleum. After lunch, you will visit the tile cooperative and then discover a magnificent panoramic view of the entire medina of Fez. Accommodation for the night in the same riad. Bed and breakfast.
 

Day 5: Fez to Merzouga via Ifrane Midelt and the Atlas Mountains

After breakfast in your riad, you will leave Fez towards Ifran. Known as “the Switzerland of Morocco”, then in Midelt. Stop at the famous cedar forest of Azrou – the largest in Morocco – where you can see Barbary monkeys. After some time in the forest, your journey continues towards Midelt along the magnificent Atlas hills and mountains. After the town of Midelt, you will cross the fascinating Tiz Ntalghamt pass and the Ziz gorges, offering views of the High Atlas plateau. You will notice how the landscape changes to reveal hints of desert as you approach the town of Errachidia. Next, you’ll drive along the lush Ziz Valley, stopping to admire panoramic views on the way to Erfoud before arriving in Merzouga. Your first night will be in a hotel/riad. (dinner in room and breakfast).
 

Day 6: Explore the Merzouga region and camel trekking

After breakfast in your riad. You will begin an exploratory journey of the region before setting out on a camel trek and spending the night at desert camp. Today you will visit the Gnawa people, originally slaves brought from Sudan and other sub-Saharan countries, to learn about their music and way of life. Not far from there is Lake Merzouga, with its bird populations (it sometimes dries up). You can also visit the nomadic families living between the sand dunes of the Algerian border, the abandoned mines… In the afternoon, you will ride a camel, guided by an experienced camel driver to explore the golden sand sea of Merzouga . Dinner at the camp where you will spend the night. (dinner in room and breakfast).
 

Day 7: Merzouga to Dadès via the Todgha and Tinghir gorges

Your camel driver will wake you up early in the morning to observe and take photos of the sunrise. Then you will have breakfast and return peacefully by camel to the village of Merzouga. En route, you can’t fail to appreciate the unique beauty of the spectacular Erg Chebbi sand dunes, which change with the light throughout the day. Meet your driver and depart for the Rissani, Tinghir and Todra gorges – the highest and narrowest gorges in Morocco. Lunch will be wherever you wish, then you will head to the Dades Valley, where you will see the majestic sandcastles and amazing rock formations known as the “monkey toes”. Night in a hotel. (Dinner and breakfast).
 

Day 8: Dadès to Marrakech via Ouarzazate Ait ben haddou Kasbah and the High Atlas

After your breakfast at the hotel, you will start your day by passing through the road of a thousand kasbahs, the valley of roses, a visit to the kasbah of Taourirt (the former residence of Glaoui) in Ourzazate. Then direction Ait Benhaddou, ancient Kasbah (fortified village) listed as a UNESCO heritage site. Many famous films were filmed there, then another 4 hours drive via the Tizi Ntichka pass with stops. Arrival in Marrakech at the end of the afternoon where you will spend the night in a riad with guest room.
 

Day 9: Explore Marrakech

After breakfast, you will enjoy a guided tour of Marrakech, the pearl of southern Morocco. You will visit the Bahia and Badi palaces, the Saadian tombs and many other hidden treasures. Lunch will take place in one of the best traditional restaurants in Marrakech. After lunch, visit the magnificent Koutoubia Mosque and the famous Djemaa el Fna market square. It’s definitely worth a visit, as it’s one of Marrakech’s famous attractions, which comes alive at night with local storytellers, snake enchanters, entertainers… and mouth-watering barbecues. Night in the same riad with Bed and Breakfast
 

Day 10: Transfer from Marrakech to Casablanca airport depending on your flight schedule

Free time on your own and transfer to the airport depend on your flight time . Here your north and south morocco tour ends.
